My name is Maddie and I have been playing the violin since I was 4 years old. I started playing viola 5 years ago. I also have 10+ years of youth orchestra experience. I am currently a Senior at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. I was honored to have been selected for FMEA 9/10 All State Orchestra in 2022 for violin, and again in 2023. I am humbled to be invited to attend 11/12 All State Orchestra for viola again in 2024. I was invited by Emily and Natalie to join Simply Strings after Anne went off to college, and I have been playing with the group for 5 years.
My name is Ellie and I have been playing the violin for 11 years. I am currently a Senior in the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts Chamber Orchestra. In 2018, 2022, and 2023, I was honored to attend the FMEA All State Orchestra. I am excited to be invited back to FMEA All State for 2024. I have also had the opportunity to attend the Interlochen Arts Academy Summer Intensive where I was a member of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra. This past summer I joined Maddie and Sam at Trentino Music Festival in the Italian Dolomites.
My name is Jerney and I have been playing cello for 9 years. I am honored to have been chosen to play with my friends in our competitive quartet at Douglas Anderson. Last year we were recognized as finalists at the University of South Carolina’s Chamber Day competition. We were also awarded first place at the Strings at Southern chamber competition at Georgia Southern University. I am currently a Senior at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and play in the Chamber Orchestra with Maddie, Ellie, and Sam. I am also the President of the Black Arts Orchestra at DA.
Hi. I am Sam, and I have been playing violin for 12 years. I was honored to have been selected to participate in FMEA All State Orchestra in 2020 and I am excited to be invited back for 2024 FMEA 11/12 All State Orchestra. I am currently a Senior at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. I am very excited to be a part of Simply Strings!
